Sheffield University Bankers Hockey Club are delighted to announce a new partnership with Flex Health!

Established in Hull in 2015 after years working in professional football, in 2025 we opened our doors at Firehouse Fitness Millhouses, and have continued to grow since. Flex Health is a clinic that applies the principles of Sports Medicine to everybody from people with pain during daily activity through to those looking to return to sport and improve performance. We have experience working with local consultants and referring onward for imaging on complex injuries to help you get the best care and outcomes possible. We also work with patients with Neurological Conditions in clinic and as home visits, looking to improve their function and achieve their goals.
We’re excited to be working with Sheffield Bankers Hockey Club! As part of this partnership, all players and those associated with the club will receive 50% off their first appointment, and 10% off follow up appointments at our clinic in. We will also be attending some training sessions to offer any advice on injury prevention and management to players and coaches, so come say hello if you spot us in future!
Services are as follows with discount not yet applied:

Initial Assessment (60 minutes, £70. 90 minutes, £85): involving a detailed assessment, diagnosis, plan and initial rehabilitation for your pain and injury
Follow ups (60 minutes, £65. 30 minutes £42): following your initial assessment, these are scheduled as we go depending on what’s recommended and what works for you
Sports massage (30 minutes, £37. 60 minutes £55): aiding your recovery and helping you feel your best

What happens when a hockey club stops waiting for children to find the sport and starts taking the sport to them?

Over the past year, Sheffield University Bankers HC, working alongside The Wolf Academy, England Hockey and our local School Games Organisers, has been trying to answer exactly that.

The results are ones that we’re incredibly proud of!

718 children. 11 schools. A minimum of six weeks’ coaching for every child. More than 4,300 coaching experiences. 133 children at our free summer camps. And, ultimately, 43 children taking the next step and joining the club.

The report is also about much more than numbers. It’s about what we’ve learned about quality, repetition, visibility and making the next opportunity easy to take. It’s about trusted partnerships opening doors into schools, brilliant coaching making children want to play again, and creating a pathway that can turn a first touch of a hockey ball into a genuine sense of belonging.

We’re incredibly proud of what everyone involved has built in Year 1 and we’re only getting started. The first year was about opening the door. Now we want to make sure it stays open. 🏑💛💙
