Buzzing to see Sheffield University Bankers Hockey Club in the spotlight! 🏑
We’ve been featured in @thesheffieldstar following an incredible season across the city, and it’s great to see the momentum, success, and growth getting the recognition it deserves.
For us at SUBHC, this one feels special. National success, promotions, a thriving junior section, and real community impact through Hockey in the Community… it’s all part of a much bigger story that’s building here in South Yorkshire.
Proud to be part of it, proud to represent this city and proud that people are starting to take notice.

Our O35s were seconds away from another dramatic set of shuffles… 2–2, last play of the game… and it slipped away on the final touch.
A proper battle against Burnt Ash HC, full of quality, grit, and everything that makes this team so special. It could have gone either way, and on another day, it does.
Huge credit to the opposition for a brilliant contest played in the right spirit 👏
Another a big shoutout to @__jonny_05 for capturing the moments that tell the story! 📸

A few moments from a very special day, courtesy of @__jonny_05 !
Full time: 1–1
Shuffles: 3–2
National Champions. 🏆Massive thanks, again, to @jerseyhockey for an incredible game played in the right spirit.
These are the days you play for. 💙🤍

What a day. What a game. What a team. 💙🤍🏑
Our Men’s 1st XI are @englandhockey TIER 2 TROPHY NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.
We came out flying, taking the lead in the first quarter through a rocket of a short corner from Will Hearne 🚀 and carried that 1–0 edge into half time. Jersey fought back hard, equalising in the third quarter, and from there it was a proper battle… 1–1 at full time, nothing to separate the sides.
So it went to shuffles.
Big moments. Big nerves. Big players.
And the boys delivered… 3–2 in the shuffles. Skipper @aidanfriskney pulling off some huge saves & @s_am.jones scoring the winning shuffle. Ice cold. Absolute bottle. Champions. 🏆
We couldn’t have asked for a better game or better opponents. Massive respect to Jersey Hockey Club who pushed us all the way and showed exactly what this level is about – quality, intensity, and proper spirit.
Today belongs to this group and rounds off an incredible season that sees the team return to national league having won the @yne.hockey premier division!
Every sprint. Every tackle. Every moment of belief this season has led to this.
National champions… not to be sniffed at.
So, so proud of you boys. Go and enjoy it. 💙🤍

Gutted to come away on the wrong side of it.
A top performance from our O35s, who led 1–0 at half time and were level at 2–2 right up to the final touch of the game, where Burnt Ash nicked it.
That’s finals hockey. Fine margins.
What a season this group has had though with loads of quality, loads of energy, and clearly a group that’s loved getting out there together. That showed again today.
Huge credit to Burnt Ash HC on the win 👏
Plenty to be proud of 💙🏑
